You may be right about how it’s probably smarter in the short term to pitch to the eager masses of people who will throw money at any kind of hyperbolic promise. In the long term, I’m not so sure if that’s a sustainable strategy.

It’s a no-brainer for most writers, and I’m wondering why I haven’t joined them yet :)

I’ll tell you why. Because it feels icky and insincere. And for some of us, that’s too high a cost for whatever money we could make by doing it.
