What I think sucks the most about the situation is that all that’s required of my fellow white people is to just be aware of some terrible tragedy that’s happened. Instead, there is defensiveness because of something they heard Al Sharpton say 30 years ago. How intellectually and emotionally lazy. It makes me sad and angry — every damn time.
