Well put, D. It’s good to hear someone in the profession of psychotherapy talking about this. It is useful to push people to explore their own feelings and try to overcome their own negative self-talk. However, we can’t let the rest of the world use that kind of coaching to dismiss how much of a role good fortune plays in any given person’s success.
