The idea that gun culture does bear some responsibility for these types of shootings is important, and needs to be brought into the national conversation about gun control and the Second Amendment. I’m not saying “some responsibility” equates to full blame or anything of the sort. All I am saying is that as a people, we can’t ignore that these misguided young men (yes, all men so far) latched on to a culture — gun culture. Could that culture say more about how many tragedies have befallen people because of guns used for ill? Could that culture focus more on the dangers and improper uses of guns, rather than take a loud, defensive stance against legislation meant to better control the flow of deadly weapons?
