It's a relative of Kanban, for sure. Having worked with Kanban over the years, I was attracted to its simplicity.

But a notable difference would be that the items scheduled wouldn't be in process. Some could be, but putting them there doesn't designate WIP. It's meant to be a way to schedule stuff tentatively and relatively, so that you can more easily navigate what to focus on today.
