I’m (hopefully) not discouraging entrepreneurship. What I am discouraging is education being molded into childhood entrepreneurship. Profitability is just one more constraint on creativity — one more rule, as you put it. We’re in agreement that we need to keep education less fueled by rules, and more free-thinking. To me “you must make this idea a profitable business venture” is a rule, a paradigm, a limiter — at a time when there should be few limits.

Let’s let kids dream first, before we send them off to college and get them thinking about profitability and burn rates.
