I think this and Echo of Hope’s point are great. There needs to be a community where we can write and expect good feedback. I had an idea about this, sort of.

If you’ve ever used BitTorrent software, they have a a seed/leech ratio — tracking how much you’ve downloaded vs. how much you’re uploading. It’s like a measurement of how much of a free-rider you are.

If there were a way to make that happen for writing vs. reading — but reading and giving substantive feedback, that would be closer to what I’m talking about…and what I think you might be.

The only thing is incentives. Reading and then providing substantive feedback takes time, and who’s got the time? Especially when people are trying to literally launch a career on Medium?
