I take your response to be a bit cynical. Surely, it costs a pretty penny for Medium to exist as a company and do what it does. Surely, they need funding in order to stay afloat — funding that demands a growth-focused business model. I’m pretty sure most of us understood that when we signed up. You’d have to be naive not to.

Also, I’m not sure why people are complaining about their feeds. I can take a look at my feed an understand exactly why it is the way it is. I’ve recommended certain stuff, follow certain people, and have selected certain tags. I can see where it’s coming from. But maybe I’m an outlier.

I’m not blindly patriotic; Medium needs to continue to improve. However, I view my recommending as something that I should do with thought as to what will come as a result.
