I struggle with this now, Anna. I think it’s because it’s unclear who Trump is. I see it as entirely possible that he does a bunch of things (policy-wise) that I agree with, while still having said all of the vile things he’s said before.

Most importantly, though, I want to talk to honest-to-goodness pro-Trump folks. I want to hear their deepest fears — the ones that motivated them to vote for him. I want to hear the things they’re excited about him doing. I want to learn as much as I can, and gain real favor. Then I want to give them my fears, my hopes, and have them attempt to understand me as much as I did them.

I want that to happen now, and I want it to happen if and when someone like Elizabeth Warren wins the presidency. I want it to keep happening forever. That’s my dream.
