Ah, I think I see where we differ. I know that Mr. Beck was focusing on criticizing government and special interests, but he then move to defending speech of almost all kinds.

I think that the issue is power relations. Those in power are so very rarely weakened or oppressed at all by the speech of those with little or no power. The converse is not true. I think that’s my worry.

Quite simply, everyone can speak, and everyone can throw a punch. But we should be careful when, how, and at whom we do both of those things.
